Allocate ongoing, dedicated funding for disaster management.
Current government disaster management allocations are inadequate. There should be more consistent and substantial funding allocated to disaster preparedness, livelihoods development and support, and resilient recovery. While livelihoods development does not contribute directly to disaster risk reduction, it provides households and communities with the resources and livelihoods security needed to better cope with and recover from disasters.
