Use green infrastructure to reduce flood risk
Parks and greenways can add value to land. They offer aesthetic and recreational benefits and act as flood buffers for households and communities. There are also opportunities to introduce solutions that reduce flood risk while supporting development. Porous pavements and ‘green’ roofs, for example, can help reduce nuisance flooding around developments and improve water quality.
