The video highlights the shelter response developed after the floods of 2007 by Uganda RC. After the initial construction of a model house, over 8000 flood-proof homes have been built. The programme included the provision of tools, on-the-job trainings on building techniques as well as risk reduction guidance to communities. The safe shelter programme has fostered leadership, mobilisation and sensitisation skills among social workers within the community.
